Lake Tahoe Century - On a Unicycle!

Saw a couple of unicyclists out there. 100 miles on a unicycle.. crazy.

Lake Tahoe Century - Spooner Clip

I hope this person had a helmet-cam, 'cause I had trouble just keeping my bike steady going down Spooner Mountain. The crosswinds were insane!

St. Anthony's Triathlon Clip

Found a very brief clip from this year of one of the swim waves starting. This was definitely the most nerve-wracking part of the race-- standing in the "pen" and watching the countdown until the airhorn went off. Wasn't feeling that great that morning and at this moment was like "What the hell have I got myself into!?"

Tour de Tucson Training Begins

Had our first training ride this past Saturday. Thirty miles out in Ashburn, VA. Going to a bourbon tasting the night before no longer seemed like a good idea when I got up at 6am that morning. It's definitely a different experience doing this as captains. Hopefully we'll actually be of help to some people. The rides will quickly ramp up from here on out, as it's a compressed season of only 12 weeks of training. Some pictures next time...

And less than three weeks until the Dewey and Disney triathlons. I am definitely not feeling in shape yet.

Park Tools School

Binni and I recently completed the six week "Park Tools School" bike mechanic class. Pretty cool stuff. We learned just about everything there is to know about bikes from superb instructor Bill Mould of Spokes Etc. The 'final exam' required us to put together a bike (new bikes are shipped to the shop in need of assembly). Still not sure I have some of the repairs down, but am going to try and fix up my old mountain bike and put a new cassette and chain on my road bike.
